The perfect drink, for the perfect movie. A friend of mine had a bunch of us over to watch Sex and the City before heading to the theater to see Sex and the City 2. What a great idea. We got to have lovely cosmos and dish about Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte, Miranda, and of course BIG. And of COURSE, Smith!!!

The previews made it look like Carrie was going to cheat on Big with Aidan — and I was really glad she didn’t totally blow it. What amazed me though was how in a rut Carrie and Big seemed to be in — AND THEY’VE ONLY BEEN MARRIED FOR 2 YEARS!!! Although they got over the hump in this movie, I’m betting they won’t get to the 5 year mark.

For a couple who has it all going for them, they are just too ‘all about me’. If a 3rd sequel comes out, I’m betting some life altering situation comes up and unless their characters grow up, it’ll be Sex and the Single Girl again!

Anyway, although Sex and the City 2 was definitely fun and full of glamour, it lacked the drama of the Carrie and Big breakup in the original. I actually think Samantha was the best part of the movie with her blinged out hormonal replacement pillbox and her ‘grab all you can out of life’ attitude.

Oh, so back to the cocktails. I made us a batch of CHAMPAGNE COSMO’s (pg. 74 Sandra Lee semi-homemade Cocktail Time book). This blend of white wine, pink lemonade, citrus soda, and vodka was a HUGE hit!!! I’m so glad this cocktail recipe was in the May section of Ms. Sandra Lee’s book, because really, what else would you drink to celebrate the Sex and the City movie with, but a Cosmo?
